Cymatics

Cymatics is the study of sound and vibration made visible, typically observed on the surface of a plate, diaphragm or membrane.

"The provenance of Cymatics is traceable at least 1000 years ago to African tribes who used taut skin of drums sprinkled with small grains to divine future events.
